Happy Wednesday to all my lovelies out there!  Middle of the week only two more days until the Bank Holiday weekend and early signs are that the weather is going to stay fine!!!  So what will you be getting up to this weekend.  I think we are going to be spending it pottering about in the garden.

Mind you the last time we did that earlier this week, this happened! A beautiful bench broken, oh dear - my fault!  Anyway, I have had some lovely feedback off one of my customers who bought a pair of our Soft n Care Gardening Gloves.   She said that they are the best gloves she has come across as she is able to handle her seedlings without damaging them and that they are very comfortable to wear.  Brilliant!  and at only £4.75 a real bargain too.  They come in a choice of colours and sizes so why not have a look at our link http://www.ruddickgardengifts.co.uk/gloves/pink.html and see for yourselves.  Well the sun is still shining here in Carlisle, that's two days on the trot now, is this summer?  I hope so.  Well enjoy the rest of your week I am having a birthday tomorrow so hopefully that will be a good day!  Speak to you all later in the week and happy shopping!

"Gifts To Make You Smile"

Hello Again.  I hope you are all well this Sunday morning.  I believe that in some places in the country you are actually having decent weather!
We are having monsoon type weather up here in Carlisle!  If it carries on like this we will all be developing webbed feet.  I have had a very good comment on one of my blogs about putting in a link to the actual selling page of the product I am talking about, so I am trying that out today, hope it works!  Anyway, lets get on with this weeks Product of the Week shall we?  Well as it is pouring down outside I am going to focus on our Inside Gifts. http://www.ruddickgardengifts.co.uk/inside/inside.html

Here you can see a selection of our doorstops.  They are made from faux leather and come in brown and beige.  They are weighted with sand and I think would look great in any home.  These three little fellas are our hedgehog, fox and owl.  They are priced at £11.99 each.   Our next selection are rabbit, tortoise and elephant, again priced at £11.99 I think you will agree they are all really cute!  We also have our funny dog ornaments and plaques

on the same page so why not check it out.  As I keep reminding you Fathers Day is only 28 days away and I'm sure dad would appreciate something different this year!  Anyway, that's about it for today we are off to Kirkby Lonsdale this morning even though it is raining! Enjoy your weekend folks and remember keep shopping!

"Gifts To Make You Smile"

Hello all you lovely people out there.  Well middle of the week again, doesn't time fly?  Hopefully, we will all be getting out in our gardens shortly  so I thought I would show you a great idea for t-lites.   These glass bottles have a wire hanger and an opening at the bottom for you to place your t-lite.  They stand 30cm tall and come in four funky colours, pink, blue, orange and green and are priced at only £4.99. Simply pop your t-lite in the bottom, light it and then hang anywhere in your garden and enjoy the soft candlelight.  They really are one of my favourite

products because they are so simple and yet look so effective.  Anyway you can find them on our Fire & Light page along with some other great ideas.  Please feel free to leave any comments you might have about my blog or website, all feedback would be greatly appreciated.   Have you checked out our facebook page as well, we are up to 103 likes on there now which we are all really pleased with.  Well, I don't know what I'm up to this weekend but fingers crossed the weather is good and we can all enjoy it.

"Gifts To Make You Smile"

Hi everyone, hope you are having a good weekend.  How come it flies by so quickly?  One minute its Friday night, next thing its Monday morning and back to work!!  Never mind, it just goes to show you should make the most of your weekends.  By now I should be saying spend them in the garden but looking out of the window I don't think that will be today!  And I just watched the weather and they reckon next week is still going to be cold and some places might even see snow!!
So with that in mind today's Product of the Week is this Japanese Bird Feeder.   Made from pine wood in a Japanese style it comes complete with hanging chain.

Simply lift the lid (see picture below) and fill with seeds or nuts, hang in your garden and watch the birds enjoy.  The bird feeder measures 38.5x38.5x21cm and is priced at £34.99 and can be found on our Best For Birds page.

The beauty of this bird feeder is that by having a low roof, the rain is less likely to get onto the feeder and make the food go messy.  Also there is a ledge round the bottom of the feeder so you can put other treats on for the birds.  Remember it is just as important to feed our garden birds now as it is in winter.  So go on give you and your birds a treat by ordering this lovely Japanese Bird Feeder today.

"Gifts To Make You Smile"

Half way to the weekend all ready thank goodness.  Hope you all had a brilliant bank holiday and for once the weather for most was good I think.  We celebrated James' birthday on Monday and we decided to go on the train to Dumfries for the day.   It was Alfies first time on a train and he loved it, as you can see he enjoyed watching the world go by out of the window.  However, we must have picked the coldest place in Britain as it was absolutely freezing!!  What a change yesterday though.  We had glorious sunshine and temperatures up to 24.  So I got out in the garden and took some pictures.  I thought you might like to see some.  This one is of Steve our gremlin.  He hides in the border but is quite harmless.

These are some gorgeous spring flowers, the three headed daffodil smells lovely and I think this is a passiflora but I'm not sure - it looks so delicate though and the colour is beautiful.  The last
couple of photos are of Alfie, who enjoyed being out in the garden but wasn't too keen on the heat.  After all his running round he took himself off onto the bench to chill and relax in the sun.  What a life eh?  Well, that's about it for today.  I really hope the weather is going to get better for us all and soon, but I am not holding out much hope!  Never mind, at least if you are inside you can take a good look round our website and see all the lovely things we have to offer.

"Gifts To Make You Smile"

So here we are right in the middle of bank holiday weekend and the weather looks like it may be kind to most of us!!  I don't know about you but I cant wait to get out in the garden, so our Product of the Week for this week is.......a brilliant Set of 4 Hand Tools.

These include a trowel,
transplanter, weeder and
cultivator.  The brilliant thing about these hand tools are that they are ergonomically designed for comfort meaning you get less stress on your wrist and less hand fatigue.  They each have an aluminium blade which is surprisingly light yet remarkably strong and they come with a funky bright green handle.  The set of four is priced at £40.00 however, if you feel that you don't need all of these they can be purchased seperatly at a price of £12.99 each.

So if you have any bedding plants like these to go in your garden in the next few weeks, our tools would be the ideal product for you.  You will find a wide range of our tools on our Tools page (obviously) from hand tools to forks and spades we have something for every keen gardener out there.  Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday and I hope the sun keeps shining for you.  By the way, we still have some of our Free Gifts left, remember only the first 10 customers ordering will receive one, so hurry!

"Gifts to Make You Smile"

Happy Friday everyone.  The Bank Holiday weekend is finally here!!  What are you going to be doing this weekend.  Going somewhere nice or relaxing in the garden and doing a bit of pottering about?  Hopefully the weather will stay fine and we can enjoy some outdoor activities.  Maybe even get the barbeque out, you never know.  If you are thinking of entertaining outside then how lovely would these glass bottle t-lite holders look hanging around your garden.  They come in a choice of four funky colours

and are only £4.99 each. Brilliant!! And if you don't want to burn your fingers lighting them how about a box of our fabulous long matches.  They are only £3.25 or buy them in this zinc container for £6.99.  All of these can be found on our Fire & Light page.  Don't forget our May Offer, a FREE GIFT for our first 10 customers who order.  It's going well, but you wouldn't want to miss out, would you?

"Gifts To Make You Smile"

Well the sun has definitely got his hat on today so I hope you are all making the most of it and getting out and busy in your gardens.  Enjoy it while it lasts as it's bound to change this weekend for the Bank Holiday, it usually does!  Anyway, update on sick little Alfie - he is feeling much better thank you, obviously Glen helped in that department by looking after him so well  (anyone who didn't see Sundays blog wont have a clue what I am going on about - so go and read it) so he is back to his little mischievous self I am very glad to report.

Right, now you may recall last week I hinted that some of our lucky customers could be receiving a FREE GIFT when they place an order.  Well here is the deal.  As James and I are both celebrating our birthdays this month, we thought it would be a nice idea to give something back to our lovely customers.  So the first 10 CUSTOMERS who place an order in this merry month of MAY will each receive a FREE GIFT.  I'm not telling you what it is but I will say that it will help you when dining in your garden this summer!  So go on, take a good look round our website at all our lovely products and remember only the first 10 CUSTOMERS will receive the gift.  Be lucky!!!!

"Gifts To Make You Smile"

Good Morning campers and I hope you are all well this Sunday morning.  I would say sunny Sunday morning but once again in Carlisle we have rain!  Anyway all is not good in the Ruddick household this morning as poor little Alfie is a bit under the weather but never fear Glen is here to look after him.  Glen I here you ask, is this a new member of the Ruddick family?  Not quite but he is our Product of the Week.  As you can see Alfie and him get on

great.  Here he is on Alfies' bed keeping him company.  Anyway more about Glen.  You will find him on our Inside Gifts page.  He is a Border Collie ornament which is made from ceramistone which means he can either be placed inside or outside your home.  He measures 24cm in height and is quite a weighty item.  He is priced at £44.00 and would make a brilliant present for any dog lover.

With Father's Day fast approaching I'm sure he would be much appreciated by any dog loving dad's out there.  But don't worry if its not Border Collies you are into as Glen has many friends.  We have a collection of dogs including Westies, Greyhounds, Staffies, English Bull Terriers and a German

Shepherd called Bart who has already gone to a new home.  Now although I have said Glen can be placed in the garden, personally I would not leave him outside during Winter.  Bring the poor fella in and sit him by your fireside.  Well, that's it for today we are off to the vets now to see what is making Alfie sick.  Watch out on Wednesday as we are going to be telling you about a Special Offer we are running during May.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend and keep shopping!!!

"Gifts To Make You Smile"

Hey hey hey it's Friday!!!  Just had Alfie for a lovely long walk, sun was shining, really warm and I saw my first butterfly of the year.

It was one like this and I thought oh great the weather is definitely getting better now.  Just got home and in the back door and would you  believe it torrential hail stones!! What is going on with this weather?  Obviously it can't make it's mind up.  Anyway following on from our Product of the Week, if you would like to attract butterflies into your garden then we do have a box of seeds that does just that.  It is in our Garden's Friends Range and specifically has species that will attract butterflies.  Sowing time is perfect for now and you get about 23 different species in the pack including Clover, Corn Cockle and Dill which is known to attract many caterpillars.   The box is priced at £9.99 and will cover 7m2 of your garden.  So why not give it a go and have some of these lovely creatures coming into your garden.

It's been another busy week here at Ruddick Garden Gifts, have you seen our facebook page? If not then go have a look and please click the like button, (if you do).  Watch out for next weeks blogs as we have something special coming up in May which could mean that some of our lucky customers could be getting a FREE GIFT when they order.  Watch this space for more information.  Have a good weekend and speak to you on Sunday.

"Gifts To Make You Smile"

Hey everyone and welcome to Wednesday!!  Did you know there are only 52 days until Father's Day.  So now is the time when you should be putting your thinking caps on and deciding what to buy for him.  Forget about socks and mugs and boring stuff like that we have some great ideas at Ruddick Garden Gifts - here are a few that I picked out, see what you think.  Firstly, what about this Robin Thermometer Clock.  Hand painted and made from polyresin meaning it is weather resistant this would make a great gift idea and at only £19.95 it's affordable too!  Next up what about this cast iron Garden Tool Hook, great for hanging things on in dads shed and its only £8.99, he's worth that isn't he?

Finally I have chosen
this German Shepherd Plaque.  Don't worry if german shepherds aren't his thing, there are other breeds to choose from.  All the ceramic tiles can either be hung or left free standing and all are priced at £29.99.

Hopefully, these items have given you some ideas but don't worry if none of them have taken your fancy we do have lots of other products that would be suitable for all dads out there.  So go on everyone don't leave it until the last minute get browsing through our website and see if you can get something really different this year, something that he will appreciate and will last forever!

"Gifts To Make You Smile"

Good Morning everyone and welcome to this weeks Product of the Week.  Before we get onto that though, I thought you might like to see a bit of spring colour from my own garden.  It's so nice to see all the flowers coming out now and it makes you want to get into your garden and get busy.

With that in mind and as we have had some half decent weather this week I felt the time was probably right to focus on our seed collection.  Produced by Nova-Flore they are a garden in a box.  They come in four ranges, The Garden's Friends Range, The Summer Flowers Range, The Specifics Range and the The Dwarves Range, so we really do have something to suit everyone's garden.  I have selected two boxes from two of the ranges to talk about today but for all the others take a look at our Seeds page.

Firstly the Perennials are from the Dwarves Range.   Dwarf plants are essential in creating a good looking landscape and are brilliant at filling in all those nooks and crannies of your garden.  These seeds can be sown in either Spring or Autumn so now would be perfect.  There are approximately 29 species in each box and they only grow up to 50cm.  The species include Achillea, Centaurea and Bellis and are perfect for growing a mini meadow.  There are enough seeds in the box to cover 7m2 and will give you 3 - 4 months of flowers.  They are priced at £9.99.

The next box are for Wild Flowers and as you can see from the above picture they are really pretty.  These are from the Specifics Range.  Again they can be sown in Spring or Autumn and there are about 13 annual and perennial species per box enabling you to establish a wild flower meadow at the heart of your garden.  Species included are Chrysanthemums, Centaurea and Grasses.  The seeds will cover 7m2 and will give you flowers over a two year period.  These are also priced at £9.99.  For more of our range visit our Seeds page.  Well I hope this has given you some inspiration to get growing your own flowers.  Even if you've never done it before these boxes are so simple and come with full instructions you will have no problem in creating a beautiful garden.

"Gifts To Make You Smile"

Anyone else feel like this right now!!  It's been quite a week but finally the weekend is here and hopefully, fingers crossed, the weather is going to be ok.  Which means of course we can all get out there in our gardens or back yards and enjoy ourselves.  So how about this set of 3 Silver Birch Love Heart Containers as you can see they are lined with plastic all ready for you to pop your favourite plants in.  I tried them with polyanthus and you can see they look pretty good. They are priced at £24.99 for the 3 and you

will find all the measurements for each container on our Garden Accessories page.  They will certainly brighten up a corner of your garden and as they are made from the bark off Silver Birch trees they will blend in beautifully.  So go on why not treat yourselves and order a set today.
And seen as you are hoping to do some gardening why not add a pair of our gloves onto your order.  At only £4.75 they really are worth having.  They are the best gardening gloves I have come across as they fit like a second skin so you can still feel what you are doing.  As for our little survey held the other week, it was a bit disappointing as not many people took part but I think that pink came out on top as the favourite colour.  They are available in small and medium sizes and in pink, blue or yellow.  Alternatively you can also order the landscape
gloves which are a bit more heavy duty.  They are the same price and sizes but come in burgundy, navy or green.  So go on you have no excuse, get your gloves on and get planting.  Enjoy your garden!!

"Gifts To Make You Smile"

Hey, it's Wednesday!! half way to the weekend.  What a great feeling that is.  Well what have you all been up to this week?  As you can see Alfie has been out and about again, he loves going for walks and playing in the garden as you can see! Talking of gardens, I don't think it will be long before we are all able to get back out there as the weather has been a
little warmer this week.  A perfect time then to start thinking of things for your garden and if you have any birthdays coming up then don't forget we have some cool gift ideas.  From birdhouses and feeders to lanterns and tea light holders we have something for everyone.  This Welcome Stone for example is only £5.99 and would make a simple yet effective gift that would last forever.  We also have a selection of cast iron
Bells and Knockers and some great clocks and thermometers.  One of my favourites is this Blue Tit Thermometer Clock which is made from polyresin which means it is weather resistant.  It is also handpainted and is only £19.95.  So go on if you haven't already had a good look round our website, do it now and see what we have to offer.  I'm sure you'll be surprised!!

"Gifts To Make You Smile"

Good morning and welcome to this weeks Product of the Week.  Well we have had a few lovely sunny days and it has been great seeing all the birds going about looking for stuff for their nests, so this week I am highlighting our DIY Nest Box Kit.  Priced at £17.99 this is a fantastic gift idea for young and old alike.  Instructions are included and the kit comes with everything you need to build your very own nest box for your garden. It is not suitable for children under 5 years and should be used under supervision from an adult. The kit includes wood glue,

nails, a small hammer and wooden pieces.  Once made it will make a great home for Blue Tits, Great Tits, Tree Sparrows, House Sparrows and European Pied Flycatchers.  When fully assembled the nest box measures approx. 17cmx21cmx23cm.  When you have finished your nest box the best place to hang it is in a quiet and somewhat sheltered part of your garden, not in direct sunlight and with an obstacle free approach route for the birds.  If you do not nail the bottom you can easily clean out the box in the autumn to make the birdhouse a safe haven for birds seeking protection from severe weather conditions during the winter.  We also have on offer this DIY Paint Nest Box
which is another great idea for children.  The kit includes a wooden nest box complete with paints and brush. Let their imaginations run wild and see what wonderful

decorations they can come up with. This kit is priced at
£9.99 and can be found on our Best For Birds page.
